Slideshow Classic: keep your text still

Turn on Keep text fixed across slides and only the photos change. Your headline and buttons stay exactly where they are.

Slideshow Classic gives every slide its own text, which is right for a slideshow where each slide makes its own point. It is the wrong shape for a banner, where you want one headline sitting still while the imagery moves behind it. Until now the text rode along with the photo and moved on every change.

Open Layout and turn on Keep text fixed across slides. The photos keep rotating, and your eyebrow, heading, subheading and buttons stay put. No fading, no sliding, no re-animating on every change.

The text it shows is the text on your first slide, so there is nothing new to type. Turn the setting on and the words you already wrote stay on screen. Turn it back off and every slide goes back to carrying its own text, exactly as before. Nothing you have written is lost either way.

Two details worth knowing. Text typed on the other slides is ignored while the setting is on, so put your banner copy on slide one. And if you have given your slides their own links, those still work: clicking the photo behind the text follows that slide's link, while your buttons keep their own destinations.

Your existing slideshows are untouched. The setting ships off, and a slideshow with a single slide has nothing to rotate, so it is unaffected either way.
