The five rules.
Modulo is built to help merchants run honest, high-performing storefronts. The following uses are not permitted:
1. No resale.
No reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the Modulo app or any of its sections or blocks as a standalone product or library.
2. No reverse-engineering.
No decompilation, no extraction of the app's source code, no attempts to recreate the proprietary parts of the product, except where this restriction is prohibited by mandatory law.
3. No shopper deception.
Stock urgency blocks render only with real inventory data. Social proof blocks render only with real, verifiable signals. Review counts must reflect actual reviews. Countdown timers must reflect a real condition. Fabricated scarcity, fabricated reviews, and fake urgency are explicit grounds for suspension. This rule mirrors Shopify's Built for Shopify guidance.
4. No probing the service.
No unauthorized scanning, penetration testing, request flooding, denial-of-service activity, or use of undocumented API endpoints. Responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities is welcome at hello@runmodulo.com.
5. No use that breaches Shopify or applicable law.
Includes the Shopify Acceptable Use Policy, the Shopify Partner Program Agreement, consumer protection law, data protection law, and advertising standards in your market.
