Cookie statement.

Modulo's cookie footprint is intentionally minimal. The small set of cookies set across the app admin, the storefront integration, and the marketing site, why each one exists, and how to opt out where opt-out is meaningful.

What cookies Modulo sets.

Across all three Modulo surfaces, exactly one cookie is ever set. Here is each surface and what it does:

  • App admin at app.runmodulo.com: a single session cookie issued by Shopify App Bridge. It authenticates the embedded app session and ties the admin UI to the Shopify shop you are logged into. It is strictly necessary for the app to function. Lifetime: session.
  • Storefront sections and blocks: no cookies set by Modulo. The storefront integration runs as native Liquid sections injected through Shopify's theme system. No fingerprinting, no tracking, no third-party scripts. If a cookie appears on your storefront after installing Modulo, it was set by your theme or by another app, not by me.
  • Marketing site at runmodulo.com: no cookies. Aggregate traffic is measured with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless — it counts page views without setting a cookie, without cross-site tracking, without device fingerprinting, and without sharing data with advertisers.

Why these cookies are necessary.

The App Bridge session cookie is required for any embedded Shopify app, including Modulo, because Shopify uses it to verify the session token on every admin request.

The marketing site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which measures aggregate traffic without setting any cookie at all — so there is no analytics cookie to justify. It builds no shopper profiles and shares no data with advertisers. There are no advertising cookies, no remarketing cookies, and no cookies that would persist a profile across other sites you visit.

Opt-out and contact.

The App Bridge cookie cannot be disabled without breaking the app. If you do not want it set, do not install Modulo.

The marketing-site analytics are cookieless and collect no personal identifiers, so there is nothing to opt out of. You can still block the analytics script with any standard tracking-prevention setting, ad blocker, or browser privacy mode, with no effect on the site.
