A header you can actually replace

Header Pill is the first header in the catalog: a floating capsule that rides over your hero image, then turns solid and tightens as you scroll. Drop-down menus, a slide-down search panel and a cart count included.

The catalog has had 195 sections and no header. That is a strange gap, because the header is the one component every shopper sees on every page, and the one most themes give you the least control over.

Header Pill is a full replacement. Your menu sits on the left, your logo in the centre, and search, account and cart on the right. It is shaped as a floating capsule rather than a full-width band, so it reads as part of your design rather than a strip bolted to the top of it.

It changes as the page moves

Switch on "Sit over the first section" and the header starts transparent, floating on top of your hero image so the photo runs edge to edge with nothing cut off the top of it. The moment you scroll, it turns solid, shortens, narrows slightly and lifts onto a soft shadow.

You can upload a separate light version of your logo for the transparent state, and set the link colour that reads over your particular hero.

The menu, search and cart

Menu items with a drop-down open a panel on hover, and become a tidy accordion in the mobile menu. The whole thing comes from a menu you pick in Shopify, so it stays in step with your navigation without a second place to edit.

Tapping search slides a full-width field out from under the bar. It searches your store the normal way, with no extra scripts loading on your storefront.

The cart shows a live item count and links straight to your cart page. This header does not open a cart drawer, by design: your theme already owns that behaviour, and two competing drawers is worse than one.

Before you add it

Header Pill goes into your theme's Header area. Remove or hide your theme's own Header section there first, otherwise you will have two headers stacked on top of each other.

No logo uploaded yet? It falls back to your store name beside a monogram tile, so it looks finished from the first install.

Also

Set the corner radius to 0 with no side spacing and you get a classic full-width bar instead of a capsule. Bar height, spacing, max width, link size and every colour are adjustable, separately for desktop and mobile where it matters.
